Paper Title: PHASE RECOVERY OF A STOCHASTIC POINT PROCESS SYSTEM Technical Area: Spectrum Estimation and Processing

چکیده
In this work we present two algorithms for the estimation of the phase of a neuroelectric system of point processes using the third-order spectral density function of the output. The neuroelectric system, which is called muscle spindle, plays an important role in the initiation of the movement and the maintenance of the posture. The system can be modelled with the help of a linear stochastic model. The phase of the transfer function is estimated with the help of the third-order spectral density function of the output. The estimate of the third-order spectral density function is obtained by smoothing the third-order modified periodogram statistic. As illustrative examples we examine the behavior of the muscle spindle under two different conditions: (a) when it is affected by a gamma motoneuron and (b) when it is affected by an alpha motoneuron. It is shown that in the first case there is a delay of the output by about 12 ms whereas in the second case the system is delayed for about 37 ms.

Confidence Interval Estimation of the Mean of Stationary Stochastic Processes: a Comparison of Batch Means and Weighted Batch Means Approach (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Suppose that we have one run of n observations of a stochastic process by means of computer simulation and would like to construct a condifence interval for the steady-state mean of the process. Seeking for independent observations, so that the classical statistical methods could be applied, we can divide the n observations into k batches of length m (n= k.m) or alternatively, transform the cor...
متن کاملCARBON DIOXIDE MINIMUM MISCIBILITY PRESSURE ESTIMATION (CASE STUDY)
Carbon dioxide flooding is considered to be one of the most effective enhanced oil recovery methods for the light oil reservoirs. Depending on the operating pressure, the process might be miscible or immiscible. Minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) is the most important parameter for assessing the applicability of any miscible gas flood for an oil reservoir. The miscibility condition is determine...
متن کاملEstimating the Time of a Step Change in Gamma Regression Profiles Using MLE Approach
Sometimes the quality of a process or product is described by a functional relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables referred to as profile. In most researches in this area the response variable is assumed to be normally distributed; however, occasionally in certain applications, the normality assumption is violated. In these cases the Generalized Linear Mod...
متن کاملBandlimited Spectrum Estimation under the Constraint of a Minimum Inter-Sample Spacing
In the matter of sampling of a continuous time stationary stochastic process for the purpose of spectrum estimation, a practical constraint that comes in the way is that of a minimum separation between successive samples. It is well known that for a given threshold of separation, uniform sampling can be used to estimate only those power spectral densities which are limited to the band implied b...

This research addresses the extraction and recovery of nickel ions from real electroplating wastewater using SLM process. The process involves three main phase system which are feed, organic and stripping phase. The feed phase containing the nickel electroplating wastewater whereas the organic phase containing the liquid membrane which was immobilized in the membrane support. The liquid membran...
